JOBSITE BREAK TIME The project superintendent has the discretion to give up to two (2) breaks during the day. The
total time for both breaks is twenty (20) minutes. This can be ten minutes in the morning and ten minutes in the afternoon. This is the total time for the break(s), not the time after you get your snack. The
superintendent can send one employee to gather the snacks and or drinks if necessary. The preferred method is for you to bring your snack with you. The U.S. Department of Labor does have a
policy on work hours. That policy provides that the employer does not have to give even a lunch break. If the employee is working under a collective bargaining agreement, the agreement
takes precedence over this policy.Abuse of the break policy is cause for termination. Revised April 7, 2000 |
