From the begriming we have endeavored to be on
the cutting edge of our industry. We have embraced the use of computers
for project management and scheduling long before contractors in
our class. Listed below you will see some of the applications that
serve us and help us better serve our clients.
- Technically Trained Personnel
- Each of our projects have one or more dedicated
project supervisors to manage and represent our firm. They
possess the technical ability to accurately read and interpret
contract drawings and specifications. They are technically
experienced in a wide variety of construction trade practices.
- Job Site Innovation
- Our supervisors enjoy the use of accurate
laser leveling and instruments for proper lay-out of work.
- Computerized Project Management System
- In 1985 we began development of an Expert
System designed specifically for our company in performing
public works projects. This system was developed using a 4th
generation programmable database. This expert system helps
us maintain tight control of the projects that we perform.
The system includes modules for;
- Quality Control - Material Approvals,
Requests for Information and Document Control, Deficiency
Tracking and Correction.
- Contracts - Subcontract writing and administration,
vendor purchase orders and administration, Change order
administration.
- Bid Document - Plan ordering and scheduling.
- Estimating - Subcontractor and Vendor
solicitations.
- Compliance Systems
- Safety System
- Bid Result and Competitor Tracking
- Computerized Scheduling
- We use Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling
on all of our projects and have done so since 1990. We currently
use either Primavera P3e for construction or Suretrak. This
kind of detailed and comprehensive scheduling is necessary
for assuring completion on time.
- Integrated Computerized Accounting
- We use the Infosource accounting system,
which has modules for Job Cost, Accounts Payable and General
Ledger.
- Computer Aided Design
- We use Autocad LT and DesignCad-3D for drafting
and shop drawings.
- Web based applications
- We have incorporated several useful web based
tools for clients and subcontractors. These include;
- On-line subcontractor application
- On-line Deficiency notification
- On-line Warranty Request
- On-line subcontractor payment inquiry
- On-line Request for Information
- Downloadable forms;
- Subcontracts and Purchase Orders
- Safety Documents
- Public Works Forms
- Downloadable Bid documents
- Internet Document Transfer
- We routinely prepare and transmit documents
via the internet.
- Computer Hardware and Office Duplicators
- Our office has numerous PCs networked to
a dedicated Unix server. The Expert Systems run on Unix. The
scheduling and other applications software run independently
on the PCs.
- We use several network printers, plotter,
etc.
- We have a Xerox 2510 plan duplicator for
reproducing large scale drawings.
